The original
Bullet Space Pen was conceived in July of 1948. Paul Fisher was soon machining a new pen design shaped from solid aluminum. It became our first Fisher ball point pen, the #400 Bullet Pen, and arguably the most popular pen of the twentieth century. This pen is now all brass with a Chrome finish.
This Fisher Space Pen Bullet comes with black ink and a medium point. This is a cap type pen, not a retractable one. It is a compact pen with the cap on and a full sized pen with the writing point exposed. The pen is 5-3/8" long when ready to write and capped is only 3-3/4" Long. The barrel is .350 that is a standard sized pen and has tapered, ridged grip. It has a gift box and sleeve.
The Fisher Space Pen Chrome Bullet uses the standard Fisher “SPR Series” Refills. This refill was developed for NASA and has been used on EVERY Space Shuttle mission both American and Russian. They are hermetically sealed with a specially formulated thixotropic ink and pressurized to about 35 PSI. They are the only refills that will write at any angle because they do not rely on gravity, and have a shelf life of 100 years. Each refills also come with an adapter so they will fit Parker and Parker style Pens.
